Access Control Specialist

The Application Support Specialist is responsible for providing support for various enterprise systems. This individual shall assist in the day to day support and administration of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center’s (MCCNO) software applications, provide training and documentation to users.

Description

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Participate in report development to gather user requirements, design configuration, testing and implementation.

• Develop, test and train end users on custom reports for MCCNO software applications.

Collaboratively work with vendors and end users to ensure operating efficiency and minimize disruption.

• Coordinate installation of new software releases, fixes and upgrades with vendors.
• Ensure maintenance of applications in a manner that supports delivery of services to users.
• Ensure continuity and quality by owning the resolution of issues across platforms, tracking progress and escalating as appropriate until
• Run backups of environments and maintain copies.
• Provide advice and training to end users.

Maintain software and application documentation records.

Oversee and assist in the day to day administration and support for MCCNO software environments.

• Respond to software/application issues for end users. Identify problems and coordinate and provide appropriate corrective action.
• Assist with support calls and coordinate problem calls with helpdesk personnel when necessary.

Qualifications

Education

Required

Bachelors or better in Information Technology or related field.

Experience

Required

Must have an advanced working knowledge in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and four to six years related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

Experience in Visio a plus.

Demonstrated ability to understand data definitions and mapping rules used to develop reports. Crystal and JET reporting experience a plus.

Working knowledge of Access Control Systems and VMS preferred. Interactions with APIs is a plus.
