Dates & Schedule:
Monday, September 29 – Tuesday, October 7, 2025
8–10 hour shifts daily (includes weekend and evening hours as needed)

New Orleans Lakefront – New Orleans, LA
Position Overview:
The Field Operations Crew is the backbone of festival site build and breakdown. This hands-on team supports the physical setup, maintenance, and teardown of event infrastructure, ensuring the site is safe, efficient, and ready for thousands of guests to enjoy the National Fried Chicken Festival. Crew members will work closely with the Operations Manager and Site Leads to execute a wide variety of logistical and manual labor tasks. Field Operations Crew will be distributed to specific departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Setup & Breakdown
- Install and remove event signage, banners, and wayfinding markers
- Set up and remove safety equipment including cones, barricades, and flagging
- Distribute, tables, chairs, and other rented equipment
- Place, secure, and remove temporary flooring
- Install tent lighting
Logistics & Equipment Handling
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and storage containers with event materials
- Move equipment and supplies across the site using carts, dollies, and other transport tools
- Assist with delivery and placement of festival assets (e.g., generators, lighting towers, coolers)
- Maintain organized storage areas for event equipment and supplies
- Monitor inventory of event materials and report shortages/damages
Safety & Site Support
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of guest safety zones, VIP areas, and ADA accessibility paths
- Ensure walkways, vendor areas, and guest spaces are clear and safe
- Deploy ant poison and other insect repellants
- Provide general maintenance and repairs to site equipment as directed
- Support other festival departments with on-site needs (hospitality, vendor support, guest services)
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE while working
During Festival Days (Oct 4–5)
- Assist with early morning site preparation and end-of-day reset
- Respond quickly to on-site logistical needs and emergencies
- Re-stock supplies for barricades, signage, and operational equipment as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous festival, live event, or construction/warehouse experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions for long hours
- Ability to take direction and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work as part of a team
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
Compensation:
$1500 Flat Rate; Merch, tickets, meals and water provided during shifts.
Work Environment:
This role requires physical labor in an outdoor festival setting. Crew members must be prepared for changing weather, large crowds, and varied work assignments.
