Social Media & Marketing Internship (PAID)

Who We Are: Freret Napoleon is a boutique marketing agency rooted in the heart of New Orleans. What began as a handmade oyster shell jewelry brand has grown into a full-service agency, blending artistry and community to craft personalized and impactful marketing strategies. From our origins at the crossroads of Freret Street and Napoleon Avenue, we’ve expanded to serve clients across the U.S., bringing a unique touch to every brand we collaborate with.

Summary/Objective: As a Seasonal Marketing Intern at Freret Napoleon, you’ll gain hands-on experience inside a fast-paced creative agency. You’ll collaborate with our team to develop content that moves people from planning out reels to scheduling social posts and engaging with audiences.

This is an opportunity for a driven emerging creative to explore what it takes to manage a brand’s social presence, support real client work, and contribute to the kind of marketing that leaves a lasting impression. Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Social Media & Content Support

• Support the creation of social-first content for clients and FN’s in-house brand, including writing captions, editing short-form videos, prepping content for posting, executing posting schedule

• Maintain and organize editorial calendars across multiple brands

• Monitor social channels for engagement opportunities and help build brand voice across platforms

• Track trends, audio, and platform shifts and bring your ideas to the table

Client & Account Support

• Assist with day-to-day social tasks for small client accounts, including post scheduling, hashtag research, and engagement

• Join brainstorms and creative planning sessions with our team

• Help gather competitive insights, trend research, and PR outreach lists

• Contribute to the prep and wrap of client content days (photoshoots, video shoots, etc. no photography training needed)

Team Collaboration & Learning

• Attend weekly team meetings and creative check-ins

• Be part of a supportive and collaborative team that values curiosity, clarity, and design-forward thinking

• Grow your skills in content strategy, client communication, and what it really takes to build something that lasts

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the above fields is also welcomed

• 0-1 years of social media marketing experience

• Content Creation experience

• Exceptional grammar and spelling (candidates who do not meet this standard are encouraged to reconsider applying)

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Detail-oriented with a strong ability to craft messaging that aligns with brand voice and objectives

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Active engagement on social media platforms

• Familiarity with social media trends and best practices

• Basic photo editing experience is a plus

Work Environment / Benefits / Perks

• This is an in-office position based in New Orleans, LA, some weekends and nights may be required on occasion

• In-city travel only may be required to attend client meetings or events
