Reconcile New Orleans, Inc. (RNO), also known as Café Reconcile, has been a cornerstone of the community since 2000. We combine delicious New Orleans cuisine with a mission-driven purpose: empowering young people ages 16–24 through job training, skill development, and career exploration. PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

The Case Specialist-Social Services’ primary responsibility is to provide effective and efficient operations of services and program delivery to interns of the Reconcile training program. The Case Specialist-Social Services will coordinate care for program interns of the Reconcile training program. The Case Specialist-Social Services assesses the needs of young people when entering the program, recommends support and resources based on those needs, and follows up with program interns throughout the training program to ensure those needs are addressed. It is the responsibility of the Case Specialist-Social Services to help program interns make the best use of available opportunities and resources to fully develop each program intern’s individual potential and help them find success in the workplace.

The Case Specialist-Social Services consistently maintains the highest level of professional ethics and confidentiality.

This position reports to the Chief Program Officer. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with participation in weekend or after-hours events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Outreach and Recruitment:

•Support recruitment by building relationships with community-based organizations and service providers

•Identify and maintain partnerships to expand access to resources for interns

Assessment:

•Conduct intake assessments (including biopsychosocial screenings) to identify interns’ strengths and needs

•Develop individualized service plans that align with intern goals and training milestones

Counseling, Case management, and supportive services:

•Serve as a mental health professional resource for interns and staff

•Assisting interns with applying for applicable benefits such as UNEMPLOYMENT/SNAP/WIC/FITAP/Medicaid

•Assist with scheduling and coordinating transportation for interns to obtain IDs, Birth Certificates, Social Security Cards, for legal support, court dates, health care, doctors’ appointments, and childcare

•Work with the Case Specialist-Curriculum & Training in developing the monthly workshop schedule

•Facilitate referrals for counseling and case management services outside of the organization

•Develop treatment plans and coordinate continual care plans with service providers

•Provide brief behavioral interventions using evidence-based techniques such as behavioral activation, problem-solving treatment, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, or other treatments as appropriate

•Maintain and establish relationships with community partners for supportive services to meet interns’ basic needs, such as housing, food security, etc.

•Conduct foundational skills workshops and help to maintain partnerships through the city that facilitate life skills classes and provide services to interns

Data Entry and Management:

•Maintain up-to-date case notes and intern files in accordance with grant and organizational standards

•Use electronic data systems to document services and track outcomes

•Support continuous quality improvement by analyzing program data and generating reports

Team Collaboration and Program Development:

•Actively participate in team meetings and strategic planning efforts

•Guide foundational curriculum components focused on social-emotional and professional development

•Co-facilitate professional development opportunities for staff and interns

•Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of Reconcile’s Tiered Training Model

•Perform other duties as assigned to support program goals

Relevant Qualifications and Experience:

•Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required

•Minimum 3 years of experience in counseling, case management, or youth development

•Strong knowledge of local community resources and experience forming collaborative partnerships

•Skilled in crisis intervention, behavioral health support, and evidence-based service models

•Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a variety of people

•Eagerness for continuous growth and a record of acting on feedback to improve

•Proven history of building meaningful, respectful relationships with young adults ages 16-24

•Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and perform under pressure

•Comfort and experience in creating and implementing policies and procedures to strengthen program quality

•Google Suite experience (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and comfort with learning new platforms

•Pre-employment background check required
