About Us: We are an established business with 15 years of experience, and we are expanding our services to offer an exciting new Events space in a 42,000 square foot historic New Orleans Building. With the recent acquisition of this beautiful building featuring an elegant events ballroom, a corporate floor, and a museum space, we are now providing top-tier event services in the heart of New Orleans. Our events portfolio includes weddings, balls, corporate events and retreats, art exhibits, and much more. The company has already established vendor relationships and owns in-house equipment (tables, chairs, etc.), ensuring a seamless and elevated experience for every event.

Position Overview: We are seeking an Events Manager to join our growing team. This is a key role for someone looking to help build and shape an events division from the ground up. The Events Manager will be responsible for earning new business, scheduling and organizing events, managing contracts, and coordinating all logistics to ensure smooth event execution. You will work closely with our preferred vendor partners and caterers to design and deliver unique and memorable events tailored to our clients' needs. This position provides an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and creative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Generate and secure new event bookings through proactive sales, networking, and relationship-building efforts.

  • Event Planning and Coordination: Oversee all aspects of event planning, including scheduling, organizing, and coordinating every detail to ensure seamless execution.

  • Contract Management: Write and execute contracts, ensuring all terms are clear, fair, and met by all parties.

  • Vendor Coordination: Work closely with preferred vendors (linens, catering, DJ/music, lighting, bar) to ensure quality and satisfaction for each event. Help develop custom menus and services for clients.

  • Staffing: Hire, train, and manage event staff to ensure events run smoothly and professionally.

  • Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their vision is brought to life and their expectations are exceeded.

  • Event Execution: Manage events on-site, ensuring everything runs according to schedule and addressing any issues that arise quickly and effectively.

  • Growth and Development: Contribute to the growth and success of the new Events business, providing feedback and insight to help improve processes and increase bookings.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in event planning or management, preferably in weddings, corporate events, or similar fields.

  • Sales-Oriented: Strong background in business development and client relations, with an ability to close deals and generate new business.

  • Organization: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple events at different stages of planning and execution.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and staff.

  • Leadership: Proven experience in managing a team, hiring staff, and overseeing event staff performance.

  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and the ability to anticipate client needs and expectations.

  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using event management software, scheduling tools, and general office software (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).

  • Local Knowledge: Familiarity with New Orleans and the surrounding area is a plus.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $50,000 per year

  • Commission: Competitive commission structure based on event and vendor bookings and client satisfaction, commensurate with experience
