Bacchanal is on the hunt for a seasoned Catering Event Lead to help bring our events to life. You'll work shoulder-toshoulder with our stellar team of Leads, collaborating with the Catering Manager to ensure every detail is on point and every guest leaves glowing!
This is a part-time role starting mid-to-late September, with most events on weekends (yes, we’ll need you when the city’s in full swing!). Lead shifts typically run about 12 hours- from the quiet pre-event hum to the last tray packed away. Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in all types of weather is essential (if you're from here, you know).
We’re looking for someone with solid experience in catering weddings (and at least 2 years in event leadership) who’s ready to jump in for extra weekend work. Most of our magic happens at Hotel Peter & Paul’s beautiful event spaces, though we also cater at other venues across the city. Right now, our bread and butter is weddings, corporate and lively social events.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend weekly BEO (Banquet Event Order) meeting related to your upcoming events
Serve as the primary point of contact for event planners and vendors before, during, and after events- keeping communication smooth and efficient.
Verify all rentals and test equipment to guarantee everything is event-ready.
Collaborate closely with the Catering Chef and Catering Manager on any food-related questions, needs or concerns that arise.
When challenges come up, identify and implement the best possible solutions quickly and calmly.
Inspire and motivate your team to work cohesively, fostering a supportive, professional, and fair work environment.
Manage accurate staff check-in and check-out via the Toast handheld system.
Oversee event setup, breakdown, and everything in between with attention to detail and efficiency.
Enforce Bacchanal dress codes and ensure staff presentation reflects our brand standards.
Guide and lead the team through flawless event execution, setting a strong example by actively participating in service during shifts.
Provide staff with all necessary logistical and production notes ahead of time to ensure clarity and confidence.
Manage day-of inventory, including packing, loading, unloading, and returning equipment to its designated place.
Conduct a thorough final walkthrough after each event to confirm the venue is spotless and nothing is left behind.
Ensure all furniture is properly stored and that the Hotel Peter & Paul Church space is completely cleared of any items.
Submit all receipts to the Catering Manager promptly.
Keep precise and up-to-date bar inventory records for every event.
Complete and submit detailed post-event evaluation forms, including any staff performance, behavior concerns or any food or bar-related issues.
Maintain clear communication with fellow Leads and Managers through Slack to update on inventories, run of show changes, production needs and venue space issues for upcoming events.
